John Albert (Jack) Bowers, Sr., 83 of Rockledge, Fl. passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27th, 2020 at Cape Canaveral Hospital. He was born July 3rd, 1936 in Ilion, N.Y., the oldest son of Albert and Elizabeth (Cranney) Bowers. He married Norma Rae Conte of Ilion on November 28, 1959.
He is survived by two brothers, Ed of Florida and Terry of Colorado; three children, Kelly (Ike) of Florida, John, Jr (Peggy) of Virginia and Patty of South Carolina, four grandchildren, who affectionately called him Beano, Jason (Britni) of Maryland, Marcus (Nadia) of Virginia and Eric and Patrick of Florida. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his wife on July 19th, 2007, his parents and two sisters, Mary Morton and Kathy Altamuro.
While living in New York, he worked for Univac, Corp. and Mohawk Data Sciences, Corp. (MDS). He then moved to California and worked for Iron Oak Plumbing, Inc. Upon his return to the East Coast he was employed by ITS at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. He retired in 2001 in North Carolina and relocated to Florida in 2016. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rockledge, Fl. In addition, he was one of the founding members of The Fireman’s Band.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, a funeral mass, for immediate family, will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rockledge, Florida.
