John Arnold Alison passed away in his sleep after a long illness on Monday, February 15, 2021 in Holmes Regional Medical Center located in Melbourne Florida. John is survived, by his immediate family:  his wife of 63 years, Janet;  his children: Frances Crump, Sandra Wagner, John D Alison and his grandchildren, Alexander Crump, Ryan Wagner, and Amy Wagner.  Also, a beloved older brother in California, Frank Alison; along with several cherished cousins.

John was born in 1937 in Staten Island N.Y.   He was also raised and married in Staten Island NY.  He graduated from New Dorp High School in 1955; and R.C.A.  Institutes,  New York in 1958 with an Electrical Engineering degree.   His career took him to live in Philadelphia, PA, Arlington VA, Buffalo NY, and Satellite Beach FL.  After retiring in 2005, he moved to SunTree/Viera, Fl.

John retired as an Electrical Engineer from Harris Corporation in Melbourne after 26 years.  Some of his work accomplishments were: Writing proposals for new work; Developing computer based system architectures; Procurement of computer related hardware and management of hardware and/or software subcontracts; Development of software architectures and management of the software development efforts; Team project management leader.  He achieved company awards for an engineering patent in government systems section.

John enjoyed family time boating on the Indian River. During his retirement years he was actively involved in AARP’s senior tax return preparation services helping hundreds of seniors every tax season.  Also, he was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Anglican Church in Viera and their Community Life group #5.

His Celebration of Life Ceremony will be at Prince of Peace Church on Saturday February 20th 2021 at 11:00am Eastern Standard Time. The service will be live streamed on the church website,    The service will also be recorded and available for viewing from the church web site for those unable to attend.
