Thank you to all who have sent cards, food, flowers and donations along with your condolences for the passing of Celestine (Whitey). Our entire family is grateful for your acts of kindness and love ~ Clara (Mimi)

Celestine (Whitey) Francis Wercinski, 93, after receiving holy communion and last rights, was carried by angels to heaven on Sunday, September 6, 2020.
Formerly of Cape Canaveral, he is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Clara (Mimi); children Mike and wife Rhonda, Michele (Missy) and husband Neil Dunn, Steve, Sam and spouse Paul Kelley, and Joe and wife Pam; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and scores of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 5 brothers and grandson Douglas Wercinski.
Born and raised in Stambaugh, Michigan, Whitey enlisted into the Army in 1945 and transferred into the U.S. Air Force in 1951. He retired at Patrick Air Force base as a technical sergeant, serving our nation in war and peacetime for 20 years. After retiring, he had several other careers that included working for NASA during the Apollo missions and owning and operating "It's a Dandy Coin Laundry" in Cocoa Beach. A devout and fierce defender of his Roman Catholic faith, he prayed the Holy Rosary each night, praying the many Mysteries and for those who have not accepted Jesus as their Saviour. Along with the Rosary Cenacle, he participated with the weekly Adoration Chapel as expressions of his faith.
A long time parishioner of Our Saviour's Catholic Church & School, funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 with interment to follow at the Church of Our Saviour's Memorial Garden. Donations in his memory may be made to Our Saviour's Catholic School or St. Vincent de Paul Society food bank.
