Grace Eitel, 95, was taken to her home in heaven on the evening of November 3, 2019. Known affectionately in her later years as Amazing Grace, she was the first of three daughters born to Fred and Janie Furness. Grace is survived by her son and his wife, Doug and Lynn Bundy from Independence, Missouri; also by her daughter and her husband, Jan and Dave Griffith from Viera, Florida; and by her grandson, Greg Bundy from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, with whom she happily remained until death parted them in 2016. Though the last 5 years of her life were spent in Viera, Florida, she considered Missouri her home, having grown up with fond memories of her childhood in the parsonage of Central Church, and spending summer vacations with her family at Bean Lake. Later she devoted her life to taking care of others to include her own parents, her husband, her children; and all this while working full time and eventually retiring from Western Electric (AT&T). Grace loved life and loved being with people, especially her family. In Florida she adopted another family whom she dearly loved, and who cared for her as if for their own mother. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, November 18th at 2:00 p.m. at The Brennity of Melbourne, in Assisted Living. Grace’s family sincerely appreciates the prayers, sympathy, support, and all the expressions of kindnesses being bestowed upon them at this time.
“For we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.” (2 Ne 11)
She did the best she could do; and will be missed by many.
