My father, Allen E Black born July 1930. Passed away peacefully on June 6, 2018. He grew up in rural Indiana and joined the military, first the Navy, then changing to the Air Force to spend more time with his family (wife Kimiko and sons Danny, Ricky and David). My mom was happily married to my dad for 60+ years. She will miss her best friend. Being in the military allowed my brothers and myself quite a bit of travel. I myself was born in Japan, Ricky was born in Illinois and David in Florida. He retired from the military in Maryland, then he worked for the Post Office in California. After retiring from the USPS, mom and dad decided that Florida would be their retirement home. Even though this was far from California, it afforded us many trips to visit them, which included side trips to the Keys, Disney World, Universal, beaches, fishing and multiple trips to see alligators. My father loved his grandchildren (Brandon, Kyle, Mason, Byron, Stephanie, Megan and Ryan), sometimes more than his own kids. My brothers and I loved our dad and will miss him. We will treasure the memories and will take comfort that part of him will live in our hearts. Pretty sure he is keeping watch on us (and probably doing some fishing).
